Binkley Small Painting on ArtBomb Today

I have a small painting on the auction block today on ArtBomb. It’s a little 8″ x 8″ acrylic on canvas of a male nude with arms crossed over his head, done in 2013.

If you haven’t followed my art career, you may not know that I began my interest in art with drawing and painting. In 1980, I had my epiphany to change direction to stone sculpture and over the past few decades, I’ve concentrated my career on carving. But I keep my hand in 2D, and since my favourite subject for art is the human nude, I’m focusing my drawing and painting pieces in that regard.

I love images in high contrast light, and this is an example. The brushstrokes are visible, but from a short distance, the eye blends them into the image – a style I am working on for my paintings.
