DivingIn Artwork to Encorp Pacific

My niece, Olivia Richardson and my multi-media piece “Thank You, But I Don’t Need Goggles” has found a home at the head office of Encorp Pacific in Burnaby, BC, Canada. Following the year long travelling exhibition, “Diving In: The Art of Cleaning Lakes and Oceans” during 2022, the artworks created were put up for auction to raise funds. Our piece was chosen by the Sea to Sky Arts Councils to be presented to Encorp Pacific to honour their lead sponsorship of the project.

Encorp Pacific was “thrilled to have it installed in their office”, states former Squamish Arts Executive Director Amy Liebenberg. Our artwork was created from trash recovered from Sea to Sky waterways by volunteer divers that included golf balls, aluminum cans, plastic oars, vape cartridges, goggles and swim masks. Olivia and I created a high relief Pacific giant octopus in a kelp and coral seabed, picking up discarded goggles.

A nice new feather in both our public art caps!
