This giclée was created digitally on my computer, using the program Corel Painter. Instead of using traditional handheld paint brushes, oil or acrylic paint and canvas (as I’ve done for years in the past), I’ve used digital brushes and colours on a virtual canvas via a drawing tablet and stylus. Digital brushes act the same as a tangible ones, leaving the digital paint with brushstrokes evident.
This female nude is standing leaning against a wall in a contrapposto pose, hands raised and behind her head, looking at the viewer with an enigmatic gaze. I’ve painted a gossamer curtain in the right foreground which inspired the title. The red floor offers an almost complimentary element to the predominantly blue composition.
The painting is printed on canvas and stretched on a 1″ deep frame. The edges are plain black.
