I have drawn this limited edition (1/10) digital print of a female nude with 17 vector lines. Inspired by the Japanese poetry style of Haiku that uses 17 syllables, and the theme of “cutting”, I’m using 17 black lines that cut the white background. I’m concentrating on the economy of line by describing my subject with enough visual information to then let the viewer complete the composition in their head.
I’ve drawn this on my iPhone, using a vector drawing app that allows me to vary the width of each vector with the weight of my fingertip on the screen. The subject of this drawing in the Haiku series is a seated female nude enjoying her morning cup of coffee – a glimpse at a simple private pleasure.
This drawing is printed on rag paper and is shipped to you on protective chip board inside a plastic sleeve and in a bubble-wrap envelope. Shipping to Continental North America is free.
