Happy New Year

On this last day of 2012, I look back in reflection as we all do. This past year has had some nice successes, but there have been many challenges and disappointments in it for Michelle and me, so overall I am happy to bid adieu to 2012 and look forward with anticipation to a better 2013.

Each year, my mother sends us the upcoming year astrology predictions from the Calgary Herald newspaper. We saved the 2012 ones until yesterday, and reviewed them in comparison with the year’s events. Eerily, about half of the predictions held true for us both and we’re looking forward to reading the 2013 predictions. Not that I put a lot of faith in astrologists, but it is fun to see what they predict. Thankfully, we are all still here after Dec. 21, against the Mayans’ predictions.

I am always optimistic that the coming year will be a good one. I am looking forward to creating more wonderful sculptures, but also getting my paintbrushes and ink pens working on a more frequent basis. Michelle and I have some other challenging projects to work on, and I am sure we can bring them to a successful completion.

It will be interesting to look back again in 365 days to see how it all went. I wish you all the very best for 2013.
