Opening Ceremony, Changsha Sculpture Festival

Tonight was the opening of the Changsha International Sculpture Arts Festival, in Changsha, China. Pictured is Hu Henghua, Mayor of Changsha Municipal People’s Government welcoming everyone to the event 21 other sculptors from around the world and I were introduced on this open air stage at the Plaza of the Bull in Yanghu Wetland Park to a large audience. There followed a wonderful display of singing and dancing with a marvellous video screen backdrop. The performances were outstanding.

Prior to this, we artists were treated to a traditional Hunan Province feast at a nearby cultural building, hosted by the Mayor and several dignitaries. It was a memorable evening.

Tomorrow, we will begin work on our sculpture projects and the real work will commence.
