Rejuvenating Winter 2025

Michelle and I are spending January and February 2025 in Laguna Beach, CA, USA to get away from the rain and snow of Vancouver. It is a little “snowbird” experiment and we are using the sunshine as inspiration to be creative outside our normal parameters. We are spending our days enjoying the waves crashing on the beaches, exploring new artistic avenues and drawing, both analog and digital.

I am working further on my upcoming jewelry line launch of necklace pieces, bracelets, earrings and rings. I’m continuing to use my virtual sculpting program, ZBrush. Here are a few sketches I’m working on:

I’m also loving my life drawing sessions, and practicing my proportions and modelling, using graphite, charcoal and conté on paper:

We both have friends and relatives in the area, so we’re having fun visiting with them, between our long walks around the town and seaside. Laguna Beach has been a great location for our winter reset. And as always, we are mesmerized by each beautiful sunset.
